New Toddler Bed

Samantha has started crawling out of her pack and play at daycare.  This does not suprise me - she is a good sleeper, but she is also a very social, active little girl, and she is very strong & very tall.  I was worried about her crawling out and falling on her head, so I found a great used toddler bed on sale a few miles from home!  Jason & I decided to get it because of the price, but we planned to keep it in the garage until we felt that she was ready.  WELL...she saw it and decided that it was her bed and that she didn't want to sleep in the crib...problem is, she wants to climb in and out of the bed, jump on the bed, and NOT SLEEP in the bed...I know that this is normal toddler behavior but I could use some tips from other parents that have been through this...HELP PLEASE!!
